1. Introduce yourself

I’m Doireann, I’m the Cluster Director of Sales in Manchester for Dalata Hotels. I look after The Clayton Hotel in Manchester City Centre and also the new Maldron Hotel in Manchester’s Cathedral Quarter – which opened last June. Originally from Cork in Ireland, Manchester has been home for over 7 years now!

2. Career highlight

This past year has been an exciting one for me, getting to be a part of the preopening team for the new Maldron was an excellent experience, we have a great team at the hotel and the location of this Maldron is second to none. Then in March just gone, I completed an extensive 18-month course, run by Dalata Hotels and in conjunction with The Irish Management Institute which was focused on strategic thinking and developing our leadership potential, it really did push me outside of my comfort zone and was an excellent experience.

3. Name three words that describe your personality

Outgoing, hard worker, over thinker

4. What’s the best thing about pro-manchester

The reason I attend Pro-Manchester events over any others is because I really enjoy networking cross industries and meeting people I may not get to meet in my day-to-day work. Everyone is always so friendly when you attend the events and the Pro Team are always welcoming. I joined the Hospitality Committee for Pro-Manchester last year and it has been so nice to get more involved and see all the work that goes on behind the scenes to get the events up and running.

5. What are your priorities for 2025

Professionally, it’s to establish Dalata Hotels as a big player in Manchester, we now have 4 excellent hotels in the city and at the airport and we need to shout about it more!
Personally, I’m running my first half marathon this month and I’ve signed up for the 2026 Manchester Marathon so it’s all about showing my two young girls that as a working Mum, you can still do it all!!

6. Favourite meeting place in Manchester

It has and always will be Cutting Room Square in Ancoats. When I first moved to Manchester, I lived in Ancoats and to me it just sums up everything I love about the city.
