Introduce yourself

I’m Farrah McWilliam, a director at Xenia Estates. We’re a residential property and commercial estate management company which operates nationwide from our headquarters in Sale.

I’ve worked in the property sector for many years and now help lead the business, overseeing operational performance, client relationships, compliance and the management of residential developments across the UK.

Career highlight

My greatest career highlight has been progressing to director after joining the business almost five years ago and playing an active role in the continued growth of Xenia Estates. Being trusted to help shape the direction of the company, bring in fresh ideas, lead a growing team and contribute to major decisions has been incredibly rewarding.

Name three words that describe your personality

Ambitious, determined and (a colleague’s choice) authentic.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

It’s a wonderful opportunity to build meaningful relationships with a wide range of professionals and businesses. The events provide a great platform for sharing ideas, learning from others and making new connections!

What are your priorities for 2026?

My priorities for this year are focused on supporting the continued growth of Xenia Estates, developing our people and strengthening our systems and processes. I also want to ensure that, as the business grows, we continue to deliver a personal, transparent, and high-quality service to our clients and residents.

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

Manchester continues to experience significant investment, regeneration and residential development. Among the most important challenges is ensuring that the city’s growth is sustainable and that the quality of housing, building safety and long-term management of developments keep pace with the speed of construction. Creating attractive places to live is important, but ensuring those communities remain safe, well-maintained and properly supported is equally vital!

Favourite meeting place in Manchester

That is a tough one, Manchester is my favourite city, and there are so many lovely spots. The Ivy Spinningfields Brasserie is up there as one of my favourites.

It has a great atmosphere, is centrally located and works equally well for a coffee meeting, lunch or a girly catch-up!

Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

I would particularly like to connect with property developers, freeholders, resident management companies and professionals working in the residential property and construction sectors. I’m also keen to meet businesses specialising in building safety, sustainability and customer experience, as these areas will continue to shape the future of property management.
