Introduce yourself:
Hi, I’m Jane and I’m a Chartered Tax Adviser. I’ve specialised in Global Mobility taxes for the last 25 years and now lead the GM team at Johnston Carmichael.
Career highlight:
Career highlight is a toughie! Lasting over 25 years in global mobility is pretty good going especially given the many changing landscapes we’ve had to negotiate.
Name three words that describe your personality:
Approachable; curious and sharp!
What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?
The multiple opportunities to meet people in the Greater Manchester community. Although I do travel to see the team and meet clients, I am a remote worker and I’m therefore excited to meet and connect with local people and re-build my Manchester network.
What are your priorities for 2025?
My priorities are raising the brand awareness of Johnston Carmichael in the North West region with a view to expanding our client base.
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
There’s a lot of exciting and important things going on in Manchester at the moment. But, with a particular interest in the tech and innovation sector, I’m particularly looking forward to seeing the further development of the Sister science &tech district and the opportunities this can bring to the region.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester?
I love Ditto coffee for great coffee and delicious bakes.
Are their any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?
Open to meeting any type of business / connection within pro-manchester. But, if you have a globally mobile workforce in whatever shape or form (e.g. overseas relocations / assignments; international remote workers; non-resident directors) I’d love to chat.
