Lisa French – PR Managing Partner at Truth Creative.

Career highlight

Setting up Truth PR in 2010 alongside Jo and Darren Scott, who I’d worked with in a previous life. When they first approached me, I said no – bonkers! I was 29 and full of self doubt about my ability to run a business. Fortunately they encouraged me to believe in myself and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

Determined. Grounded. Kind.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

I love the unwavering support for local businesses like mine. The PM team are always open to ideas and really do their utmost to help in any way they can.

What are your priorities for 2026?

To expand our services and make PR more accessible for growing businesses through simpler, more flexible and affordable support.

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

Manchester’s economic growth, one of the fastest in the UK, makes me very pleased and proud to be doing business here. The city is also experiencing rapid urban transformation and we’re privileged to be involved in a lot of that from a comms perspective. I also couldn’t not mention the potential political changes Greater Manchester is currently facing – I’m sure like many I await what’s ahead with bated breath.

Favourite meeting place in Manchester

Hampton & Vouis on Princess Street for delicious coffee and brunch and a very lovely vibe.

Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

SMEs who may recognise the value of PR but think it’s out of reach due to the traditional agency retainer model. We want to remove the barriers to professional communications support for SMEs.
