Introduce yourself

I’m Mitzi Danielson-Kaslik, Founder and Chief Consultant at VERITAS. I work across governance, risk, compliance and financial crime, helping businesses make sense of regulation without turning everything into a 97-page policy nobody reads. My work spans financial services, technology, digital assets, AI governance, operational resilience and increasingly areas such as health tech and international trade. Alongside my consultancy work, I also take on NED and board advisory roles, which gives me the chance to work with businesses at a more strategic governance level. I’m also Chair of the IoD Isle of Man Emerging Leaders.

Career highlight

Winning the ICA Outstanding Achievement Award in AML was a huge moment for me, particularly because I care a lot about making financial crime compliance practical rather than purely theoretical. More recently, speaking internationally, developing my NED work and being able to build VERITAS around the areas I genuinely enjoy has been incredibly rewarding.

Name three words that describe your personality

Curious, ambitious and pragmatic.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

The people. There is a real willingness to make introductions, share ideas and actually help one another, rather than networking for the sake of collecting business cards. I also really like the breadth of sectors represented because some of the most interesting conversations happen between people who would not necessarily meet otherwise.

What are your priorities for 2026?

Growing VERITAS in a way that stays deliberately specialist, building more long-term advisory relationships and continuing to develop both my consultancy and NED work. I’m particularly focused on AI governance, financial crime, geopolitical risk and regulatory change, as well as continuing to speak, write and contribute to conversations that make compliance feel more commercially relevant and a little less intimidating.

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

The pace of growth is probably the most interesting thing to me. Manchester has an increasingly strong mix of financial services, technology, professional services and entrepreneurial businesses, and that creates huge opportunities. At the same time, businesses are having to think more carefully about regulation, AI, cyber risk, resilience and how they govern growth properly. Getting that balance right will be really important.

Favourite meeting place in Manchester

King Street Townhouse. It’s a lovely setting for a meeting and always feels a little more relaxed than the standard coffee-shop catch-up.

Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

I’m particularly interested in meeting financial services firms, investment and private capital businesses, technology and AI companies, health tech businesses, professional services firms and organisations operating internationally. I’m also keen to meet boards and growing businesses looking for NED, governance or strategic advisory support, particularly where there is regulatory change, complex growth or risk to navigate.
