Member Spotlight: Sam Dainty, Head of Partnerships & Fundraising – City in the Community

Hi, I’m Sam Dainty, the Head of Partnerships and Fundraising at City in the Community, the Charity arm of Manchester City Football Club. Formerly from the education sector, I transferred over to football in 2018. Collaborating with global brands to bring community impact to life, my time at City has been really impactful, with some great partnerships with brands such as Puma, Nissan, Kellogg’s and Unilever being highlights.

I lead a team that endeavours to increase visibility, engagement and ultimately revenue to fund City in the community to ‘Empower Healthier Lives Through Football’.

Career highlight: Securing City in the Community branding on Champions League final shirts for the first time in the competition’s history.

What are your priorities for 2024?

To grow City in the Community’s network of supporting businesses and stakeholders

Raise the awareness of City in the Communitity’s work and impactful partnerships

Lead new campaigns and initiatives to grow the CITC network and charitable revenue

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment? From a charitable angle, the cost of living crisis and it’s impact on the physical and mental health of our communities is something that I am passionate about impacting.
