Member Spotlight: Steve Pemberton, Senior Consultant, Mattioli Woods

Introduce yourself

I’m a senior consultant within the Mattioli Woods Employee Benefits team and, although I’m approaching my first-year anniversary with Mattioli Woods in May 2026, I’ve been working in the financial services industry since 2006 across numerous roles within pensions and employee benefits.

At Mattioli Woods, I work with businesses across Greater Manchester and further afield to build sustainable employee benefits solutions that allow employers to attract and retain the best talent and become an employer of choice.

My consultative approach means I take time to first understand what a client is aiming to achieve before building a bespoke solution to ensure their objectives are met.

During my career, I have successfully delivered solutions for clients across all sectors, from working with new startups to large projects with well-known international brands.

I’m also a qualified personal trainer with a strong interest in health, fitness and longevity – passions that naturally complement my focus on employee wellbeing. In my spare time, I can usually be found hiking with my wife or planning our next holiday abroad.

Career highlight

This has been gaining my Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, which meant I was able to give individual advice to employees and help them set goals for the future.

What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?

The variety of events that take place all over Manchester along with the diverse range of businesses that attend each event.

What are your priorities for 2026?

To grow my network across Manchester and the North West and widen the support I can offer to my clients by introducing trusted partnerships.

Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

I have a strong interest in meeting HR consultancy firms and accountancy firms that are looking to strengthen the relationship they currently have with their existing clients, or indeed any business that is looking to enhance its employee benefits offering and control cost.
