Introduce yourself
I’m Victoria, director at RMS, a full-service marketing agency located in Altrincham. Whilst we have a wide portfolio of clients, with experience in pretty much every sector, our sweet spot is professional and financial services.
Day to day, I lead the PR team and work closely with our clients, setting marketing strategies, but also getting stuck into service delivery. In recent years, I’ve played a much more active role in the running of the business from an operational perspective and have loved becoming more involved in the mentoring and development of the team.
Career highlight
Definitely being made a director at RMS. I joined the team when we were based above a shop in Hale and there were just four of us. Since then, the business has transformed. Today, we have an in-house team of hugely talented designers, digital and web experts and a six strong PR team that could rival any other PR agency.
I’m proud to have a played a part in both the growth of the business and our team and the retention of our unique culture. Without sounding cheesy, whatever challenges we’ve experienced over the past 20 years, we’ve always been a team that looks out for each other, and I can genuinely say I enjoy spending time, both inside and outside the office, with every single person at RMS.
Name three words that describe your personality
I’d like to think I’m uplifting. I try my best to be encouraging to those around me; often people don’t realise they’ve done something brilliant, and I’m never shy to congratulate colleagues on a job well done. Moral; I have a real sense of social justice and as I’ve got older, I’m much less afraid of voicing my views (not sure if this is a good or bad thing!). I’ve always loved a good office debate and hearing different viewpoints. Witty, I like to spot the humour in situations and get a real buzz from making people laugh.
What’s the best thing about pro-manchester?
Definitely the networking opportunities. There is a huge range of events throughout the year covering every topic you could think of.
What are your priorities for 2026?
We’ve been lucky enough to have won some fantastic projects this year, securing a range of new clients. We’ve grown our team and now, our priority is ensuring all our clients receive the fantastic service they’ve come to expect from us.
What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?
The Makerfield-by-election and the potential leadership contest is certainly dominating the news agenda. Everyone has an opinion, and whatever your views on Andy Burnham, there’s no doubt that he’s done a great job of growing Manchester’s national and international profile.
With the Word Cup underway, and Manchester having the most passionate football fans, everywhere is buzzing with football fever! It’s the topic on everyone’s lips.
Favourite meeting place in Manchester
I recently had lunch with a client at Side Street near St Peter’s Square, and that was a great meeting place. Being based in Altrincham, So Marrakesh is another firm favourite.
Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?
We love working with ambitious, growing businesses that have clear objectives from the outset. It sounds obvious but both parties having a clear idea of what they’re ultimately seeking to achieve, means our eyes are always on the same prize.
We’d love to hear from businesses looking to boost their brand profile. As well as designing and building websites, handling PR, design and SEO requirements, we’re also particularly experienced in helping clients hone and articulate their values with our design team adept at bringing these values to life.
