New Head of Employment for JMW

Full service law firm JMW Solicitors LLP has appointed a new Head of Employment, Paul Chamberlain.

Paul Chamberlain joins the Employment team at JMW as Head of the team and as an Equity Partner. He joins from Brabners where he was Head of the Employment team in Manchester and had been at Brabners for almost 18 years. Paul advises businesses in all areas of employment law but has significant experience in working with the recruitment industry in areas such as the Agency Workers’ Regulations, TUPE, the Working Time Regulations and temporary worker status and is principal adviser to TEAM (The Employment Agents Movement) and has been for over 20 years. Paul counts amongst his clients TEAM, REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation), ALP (Association of Labour Providers), Staffline Plc and Ambitions Personnel Limited. Legal directory Chambers and Partners 2019 comments that Paul “Provides an excellent service”.

The Employment team at JMW already specialises in work in the recruitment sector and is a member of APSco, The Association of Professional Staffing Companies, and have recently joined TEAM, the UK’s largest independent recruiter’s network.

JMW has 500 people in Manchester and has also announced 37 internal promotions from 1 May from Equity Partners to Associates. Partner and Head of Lawshare Stuart Cartwright joins the JMW Equity Board as an Equity Partner. There are then 5 promotions to Fixed Share Partner for Cara Nuttall (Family), Evan Wright (Business Crime & Regulation), Nick McAleenan (Commercial Litigation), Sarah Edwards (Real Estate Residential) and Tasnim Khalid (Private Client). There were also 6 promotions to Salaried Partner, 10 to Senior Associate and 14 to Associate.
