Greater Manchester’s Bee Net Zero partnership has launched a new website, giving businesses across the region a simpler, more practical route to reducing emissions, cutting costs and building long-term resilience.
Designed to simplify decision-making and accelerate action, the new website brings trusted local support, funding opportunities and events into one accessible hub to help businesses at every stage of their sustainability journey.
Bee Net Zero is a partnership that aims to make Greater Manchester the easiest place in the UK to become a zero-carbon business. It connects organisations with the advice, tools, local support and networks they need to act with confidence.
This new website responds to feedback from businesses, who often struggle to navigate the wide range of sustainability support available.
Topics covered include calculating emissions; saving energy; clean energy solutions; sustainable transport; supply chain and procurement; funding, finance and incentives; and staff engagement.
By creating a single, streamlined source of guidance, Bee Net Zero is making it easier for companies to find the right support, take meaningful steps towards net zero and reap the benefits.
It also aims to create a community of like-minded organisations and business leaders looking to accelerate change and spread the benefits of sustainability practices.
The new website includes:
- A 10-step guide to net zero to help businesses get started on their sustainability journey
- Support separated into key topics to help businesses at all stages reduce emissions and improve efficiency.
- A calendar of events taking place across Greater Manchester
- Real-life case studies of businesses that have benefited from local support
By connecting businesses to trusted local expertise, Bee Net Zero will help organisations of all sizes and sectors to cut costs, improve competitiveness and futureproof operations.
Supporting Greater Manchester’s net zero ambition
Greater Manchester has set an ambitious target to become a zero-carbon city-region by 2038. With business activity currently accounting for around a third of the region’s carbon emissions, business leaders have a critical role in achieving this ambition.
The Bee Net Zero partnership brings together the UK’s most comprehensive network of local support programmes that are committed to making the transition as straightforward and cost-efficient as possible for businesses.
Bee Net Zero partners include: Greater Manchester Combined Authority; The Growth Company; GM Green City Region; Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce; Green Economy; Manchester Climate Ready; Transport for Greater Manchester; Energy Innovation Agency; SME Climate Hub; SP Electricity North West; Business in the Community; North West Business Leadership Team; Mott Macdonald; Siemens; pro-manchester; United Utilities; Groundwork Greater Manchester; and NatWest.
Laura Percy, Chair of Bee Net Zero, said, “Bee Net Zero’s ambition has always been to make Greater Manchester the easiest place to become a low-carbon business. While there is a wealth of support available in this space, it can be difficult for businesses to know where to start or who to trust, particularly alongside the day-to-day pressures of running an organisation.
“By bringing together trusted partners from across Greater Manchester and signposting through one streamlined, user-friendly website, we are making that support easier to access. Our aim is to reach more businesses and show that sustainability is not just the right thing to do, but a smart, commercially sound decision.”
The new website represents a significant step forward in Bee Net Zero’s mission, strengthening the support available and making it easier than ever for businesses to get started.
