Protected & Progressing Live – A parenthood journey event

5th June 2026, 3:14 pm

Pregnant & Protected, the free employment rights platform by Primas Law, is hosting its first ever live event to celebrate one year of helping working families understand and protect their rights. In partnership with Outlet Ten Discussions, Protected & Progressing Live brings together parents, parents-to-be and professionals for an afternoon of real conversation, practical support and community.

Saturday 27 June 2026 | 12:00 to 4:00 PM | Bright Building, Manchester Science Park

The event is for everyone on the parenthood journey. Mums, dads, partners, grandparents, single parents, adoptive parents, foster carers, people who’ve experienced baby loss, and anyone supporting someone through it. Whether you’ve got questions about your employment rights, want free legal advice, or just want to spend an afternoon with people who get it, you’re welcome.

We’ll be running panel discussions throughout the afternoon with speakers sharing real expertise and lived experience across topics including fertility in the workplace, the motherhood penalty, returning to work, financial entitlements and parental rights. Confirmed speakers include Joeli Brearley (Growth Spurt, founder of Pregnant Then Screwed), Claire Ingle (Fertility Matters at Work), Heather Black (Supermums), Donna Patterson (Lets Talk Work), Evie Squires (Mother of all Jobs), Sarah Ronan (EECC), Kay Crewdson (Cradle), Kate Harrisson (ChroME), Belinda Adams (Fertility Hero), Katie McGill (Therapist), Nichola Ramsden (Fertility Support Midwife) and Danielle Ayres (Pregnant & Protected and Primas Law), with more to be announced.

Alongside the main stage, we’ll have practical workshops and drop-in sessions covering midwife-led feeding support, breathwork, pelvic health, pilates and returning to exercise safely, creative writing, health coaching and legal advice drop-ins. These are smaller, hands-on sessions where you can ask questions and leave with something useful.

We’ll also have a full stall area running throughout the afternoon with exhibitors including Fertility Hero, Hypobirthing with Lizzie, Hen House Home, MOLO, Mothershift, The Manchester Mums Movement, The Mum Physio and Rebecca Lattin Photography, with more being added.

Primas Law’s employment team will be on hand offering free guidance on your rights during pregnancy, maternity, paternity and parental leave. Every attendee gets a goodie bag on arrival. Food and drink are available on site. The venue is wheelchair accessible with baby changing facilities and pushchair parking.

Tickets are £15 for adults and kids go free. Book your tickets at www.pregnantandprotected.co.uk/live-event
