Salford lecturer receives ‘Distinguished Alumnus’ award

Lecturer in Adult Nursing Joshi Prabhu has been recognised with a Distinguished Alumnus award by PSG College of Nursing, Coimbatore, India.
The award recognises Joshi’s commitment to academic excellence, clinical expertise and professional leadership in global nursing education. Judges commented on her dedication to developing future healthcare professionals through innovative pedagogy and global collaboration.
They also acknowledged her active research in cutting-edge fields like real time glucose monitoring and focus on medical device innovation and clinical advancement, saying: “Her impact on advancing quality healthcare and inclusive learning is profound.”
Accepting her award, Joshi said: I am grateful to my family, mentors, teachers, colleagues and friends. PSG College of Nursing is not just my alma mater; it is the place where my professional identity was formed and where my dreams found their wings.
“As I accept this award, I do so not merely as an individual, but as a reflection of PSG’s enduring legacy of compassion, excellence, and lifelong learning.”
Following the award presentation, Joshi delivered a guest lecture on digital nursing to over 600 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
