Manchester commercial law firm Kuits has promoted seven of its team following its eighth consecutive year of positive growth.

The news comes during the 110th anniversary celebrations of the firm, which employs over 200 people and has an annual turnover of £14m.

The firm, which was recently named the British Chambers of Commerce Regional Employer of the Year, has made Mark McKeating and Meave O’Neill partners, bringing the total number in the partnership to 32.

Mark is part of Kuits’ successful employment team, which is currently ranked band one in the North West for employee work in comparative law firm publication Legal 500. Mark particularly specialises in representing employers at Employment Tribunal, as well as High Court injunctions and protecting businesses through their contractual provisions and restrictive companies.

Finance specialist Meave has been at Kuits since she qualified eleven years ago and becomes the third partner in the firm’s banking and real estate finance team. Meave specialises in the provision of investment and development finance, particularly in the commercial sector.

Following a busy year in advising developers and landlords on high-value disputes and possession actions, property litigation specialist Rebecca Jones has been promoted to senior associate; as has David Chambers from the private client team, who specialises in protecting the assets of clients who have received compensation for personal injury or medical negligence claims.

Commercial lawyer Rebecca Bainbridge, a 2019 Young Lawyer of the Year finalist in the Made in Manchester Awards, has been promoted to associate, alongside commercial property lawyer Michelle Howell and employment lawyer Rhiannon Davies.

Managing Partner Steve Eccleston said: “It is an exciting year for Kuits, as we celebrate our long history in the North West, while at the same time looking to the future with a new office move and several technological innovations in development to further improve our service efficiency.

“It is with great pride that we recognise the achievements of these team members in demonstrating the values we believe are crucial to the success of the firm: commerciality, collaboration with others to provide a comprehensive and joined-up advisory service, and the ability to forge strong connections with the wider business market that can add value to our client relationships.”
