SHINE Awards 2025 Returns with Star-Studded Line-Up to Celebrate Workplace Wellbeing

29th August 2025, 12:43 pm

Some of the UK’s most recognisable faces are heading to Liverpool this October to champion workplace wellbeing at the SHINE Awards 2025, the UK’s first purpose-driven, alcohol-free wellbeing awards.

Calum Best, Lystra Adams, Sheena Lynch, Linda Robson, and Chanita Stephenson are just some of the famous names confirmed to attend, alongside TV personalities and media figures from across the UK’s entertainment and lifestyle scene.

Taking place on Thursday 9th October at Aintree Racecourse, the event returns for its second year to celebrate the individuals and organisations transforming workplace wellness across the UK. Timed to coincide with World Mental Health Day (10 October) – themed Wellbeing in the Workplace, the awards will shine a light on recovery, inclusion, and mental health advocacy.

What to Expect & Why It Matters

Guests will be greeted with a glamorous red-carpet welcome, live entertainment, inspiring speeches, and the presentation of 8 prestigious awards celebrating workplace wellbeing.

SHINE is proudly alcohol-free, offering a sparkling alternative to traditional awards nights. With 4.1 million fewer UK adults drinking weekly and nearly half of Gen Z identifying as teetotal, SHINE reflects a shift toward healthier, more inclusive celebrations. In fact, as 49% of UK adults plan to cut back on alcohol in 2025, the event is perfectly on-trend showing you can have all the sparkle without the spirits.

Workplace wellbeing has never been more critical. Nearly 875,000 UK workers suffered from work-related stress, depression, or anxiety in 2022/23, costing 17.1 million lost

working days (Mental Health Foundation). Poor mental health costs UK employers £56 billion annually (Deloitte), and only 55% of workers report high wellbeing at work (Mind).

Beyond the glitz, SHINE is about creating real change. By honouring innovators in mental health, addiction recovery, and wellbeing, the awards inspire businesses across the UK to prioritise people over profit. Funds raised on the night will support NACOA (National Association for Children of Alcoholics), providing vital help for children and families affected by addiction.

Steve Jones, Deputy CEO at Steps Together, said:

“We are really excited to host SHINE 2025, following the overwhelming success of last year’s First Ever Alcohol-Free Corporate Award Ceremony. We created the SHINE Awards to recognise and SHINE a light on the amazing work that organisations, businesses, and individuals do to support excellent workplace wellbeing. October 2025 marks International World Mental Awareness Day, focusing on Workplace Employee Well-Being.  So, this year we have dedicated our corporate awards to celebrate UK Businesses that are leading by example and striving for a healthy, inclusive and productive workforce.

Hosted at the iconic Aintree Racecourse, the Jockey Club’s Home to the renowned Grand National we are delighted to work in partnership with the Racecourse, supporting our mutual commitment to inclusive and responsible events. The alcohol-free format reflects a more inclusive approach to celebration, and funds raised will support NACOA UK in providing vital help for children and families affected by alcohol addiction.”

Calum Best, NACOA Patron, said:

“I’m really looking forward to attending the SHINE Awards again this year. It’s a fantastic way to celebrate the businesses and individuals making a real difference in workplace wellbeing, and to shine a light on the incredible work NACOA UK does supporting children and families affected by addiction. Being part of this night is both inspiring and rewarding.”
