5th February 2026, 1:05 pm

As part of its sponsorship of the Storyhouse Queer Festival, Slater Heelis Solicitors is strengthening its commitment to inclusivity and community support by hosting a series of free, 30-minute legal advice clinics with a team of Solicitors covering all the relevant areas of law during the festival.

As an LGBT Foundation Accredited law firm with deep expertise in advising LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, Slater Heelis is offering friendly and confidential legal advice clinics, in-person and virtually, designed to help people understand how the law applies to situations in their lives and provide practical, accessible guidance.

Appointments must be booked in advance via the booking page. Each session offers up to 30 minutes of tailored legal advice on a wide range of topics relevant to LGBTQIA+ people and their families. Whether you are exploring parenthood through a donor or alternative routes to conception, planning wills and estate arrangements, establishing cohabitation agreements, navigating relationship breakdowns, or seeking clarity on family law matters, the team from Slater Heelis will be on hand to listen and help.

Rachel Fletcher, Managing Partner and Head of Crime at Slater Heelis said: “We are honoured to sponsor Storyhouse Queer Festival and bring our legal support directly to the community in a way that is open, welcoming and affirming.  Law can feel complex and intimidating, especially for LGBTQIA+ people and our legal clinic is an opportunity to provide clear, compassionate advice and empower individuals and families to understand their rights and options with confidence.”

Victoria Harrison, Development Director at Storyhouse added: “Storyhouse Queer Festival is about celebration, representation and creating space for LGBTQIA+ voices to be heard and valued. We are incredibly grateful to Slater Heelis for supporting the festival and for championing inclusion in such a meaningful way, through both sponsorship and especially in giving up their time with these vital legal clinics which we encourage anyone with any questions to book.”

The legal clinics are part of a growing range of free and low-cost activities at Storyhouse Queer Festival, which also includes performances, films, workshops, social events and community gatherings throughout the week.
