Positive learning community Tech Returners is bringing coding and charity together with a series of
innovative learning events designed to raise funds for NHS Charities Together.
The organisation which runs programmes to empower and enable career returners into technology brought together it’s 150 strong community over the Easter bank holiday weekend to take
a break from the chocolate and take part in a CodeWars Challenge designed to
keep skills sharp and bring the community together during lockdown,
participants who complete the challenge each win a £10 Amazon voucher with Tech
Returners making a £10 per head donation for everyone who completes the challenge.
And that’s not all, Bank Holiday Monday saw the launch of 5 day webinar programme Dinner & DevOps
bringing together a collective of software engineers and developers from
businesses including Hiring Hub, Barclays and AutoTrader keen to upskill and expand
their DevOps knowledge with 10% of all sign up fees for the programme going to
the same charity
Speaking about the events CTO James Heggs said:
“ Our focus is and always
has been on positive learning experiences which bring our community together,
being in lockdown hasn’t changed that so we’ve created these challenges and
courses which whilst done remotely are very much designed to bring people
together and we knew we could go one step further by raising some funds along
the way for our fantastic NHS”
Dinner and DevOps continues throughout this week, with a second course scheduled in line with Spring Bank Holiday meanwhile Tech Returners continues to deliver two cohorts of its’
highly successful ‘ Your Journey Into Tech’ programme entirely remotely with 30
returners set to graduate in May and July of this year.
