12:00 – 14:00 GMT

An interactive, practical workshop on how organisations can build a safe space for employees to confidently raise issues and share their experiences, better support the development of Black female colleagues and address racial tensions in the workplace.

The event is based on the findings & recommendations of a research report that is soon to be published “Breaking the Glass: Understanding the barriers faced by Black Professional Women in career progression” – A comprehensive examination of the hurdles that stifle Black Professional Women in the workplace, with realistic and practical recommendations for organisations, employers and staff – facilitated by the ESRC funded Collaboration Labs Programme at The University of Manchester.

Two of the co-authors of the report Francisca Alvarez-Figueroa (GDI) and Fernanda Teixeira (AMBS & WEI) will share their key insights & are working with She Leads for Legacy, the external organisation that collaborated on the report, to develop a practical toolkit that people can take away from the session. We hope for it to be an interactive, inclusive and productive session for sharing, learning and empowering change.

Led in partnership with Work and Equalities Institute & the Collaboration Labs, The University of Manchester.
