TLT elects Head of Financial Services Sector as Senior Partner

National law firm TLT has elected Andrew Lyon, Partner and Head of Financial Services, as Senior Partner. His three-year term will commence on 1 January 2026 elected on a mandate to support the continued market leading growth of TLT.
Andrew succeeds Sasha Butterworth, who has served as Senior Partner since 2022. Sasha will continue her role at TLT as a Partner and Head of the Pensions Team.
With over 18 years of experience as a Partner at TLT and ten years as a member of the firm’s Executive Board, Andrew brings an in-depth understanding of TLT’s offering and strategic priorities. Since joining TLT’s London office in 2007, he has helped to build one of the largest national FS Disputes and Investigations teams in the UK. Andrew also served as Location Head for TLT’s London office for 12 years until handing over to Gareth Oldale in 2024, where his understanding of the financial services landscape and London’s unique market position have been key to accelerating TLT’s growth in the City.
As the current Head of the Financial Services Sector, Andrew has played a pivotal role in building one of the firm’s most significant practice areas, advising many of the UK’s leading banks and financial institutions. His strategic leadership and vision have helped to position TLT as one of the top advisers in the sector.
In his new role as Senior Partner, Andrew will work closely with Manging Partner, John Wood, and the leadership team to support the firm’s continued strategic growth and champion its culture, ensuring it is a firm that is valued for its values.

He will remain very client focussed, ensuring TLT maintains an in-depth understanding of the businesses it advises to help them unlock opportunities for growth and success.
