Venner Shipley Manchester strengthens biotech and life sciences team

We are delighted to announce that our Manchester office has been strengthened with the relocation of Senior Associate Catrin Petty.
A chemist with a specialism in small molecule chemistry and materials science by background, Catrin brings broad experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications through the UK and European patent systems in a variety of fields, including agrochemistry, drug delivery, food technology, graphene and carbon nanotube technology, peptide and peptoid chemistry, pharmaceuticals, polymer technology and medical devices.
Since becoming a patent attorney Catrin has worked with a large variety of clients including inventors, SMEs as well as large multinational pharmaceutical companies. In working with these clients Catrin has frequently advised them on their overall IP strategy and worked to ensure that it matches their commercial aims.
In particular, she has substantial experience advising/working with universities and their technology transfer managers as well as scientists to commercialise their inventions and regularly lectures about intellectual property.
