We will share evidence on how identifying and using strengths can lead to significant improvements in motivation, wellbeing, problem solving, self-confidence and teamwork. Participants will have the opportunity to explore their own strengths as well as understanding how these pragmatic approaches can be applied to leadership development, recruitment and onboarding, ED&I, wellbeing, graduate development, and client engagement programmes.

This session is aimed at senior and mid-level leaders and HR professionals. It is particularly appropriate for organisations where the performance of individuals and collaboration are critical to organisational success and sustainability.

Mike Giffin, Managing Consultant, Impact Consulting Psychologists Ltd.

Career Background

Mike has over 20 years of experience in management consulting as well as having served as a Head of Strategy and Marketing for a global company. His experience covers Strategy, Business Transformation and Change Management. He is passionate about delivering sustainable change through insightful analysis and the engagement and alignment of client teams at all levels. He has significant experience organisational development, leadership development, organisational culture, high performance team development and change management aspects of these transformation initiatives. These programmes have been designed and implemented to deliver measurable outcomes in customer satisfaction, business growth, productivity, and regulatory compliance. Prior to management consulting Mike served in the British Army where he was a member of an elite unit. Mike is a Trustee of a Multi Academy trust and supports a veterans entrepreneur charity. He is passionate about the benefits of youth sport and coaches both junior football and rugby.
Qualifications
Mike has an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School, an MSc in Applied Psychology from the University of Salford and a BSc in Human Sciences (Psychology major) from UCL. He led a client engagement that won the Management Consultancies Association prizes for Best Operational Excellence and Best Private Sector project for work with a Medical Devices company. In 2015 Mike became a Fellow of the Institute of Directors.

Maria Moneva, Business Psychologist and Head of Assessment, Impact Consulting Psychologists Ltd.

Professional Background

Maria is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society (MBPsS), having completed a BSc (Hons) in Psychology at University of Glasgow and MSc in Organisational Psychology at Alliance Manchester Business School. Prior to joining Impact Psychology for Business, she had built a successful career as a HR Adviser in Social Care, providing support and guidance on a wide variety of sensitive matters. Her passion for wellbeing and her deep understanding of the employee life cycle and the need for organisational governance and operational outcomes, enable her to strike a balance between employee engagement and business practices. She actively applies this approach to her work as a business psychologist, giving her a compassionate yet pragmatic view of the needs of the client. Maria also has extensive experience in personnel selection, having worked at the UK’s biggest specialised recruitment agency and is now the professional lead at Impact for senior level recruitment psychometrics.
Qualifications
Maria has a BSc (Hons) Psychology from the University of Glasgow and a MSc Organisational Psychology degree from Alliance Manchester Business School. Maria is a qualified SHL and Strengthscope practitioner. She is also a certified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA England).
