Welcome to Our New EDI Chair: Lisa Wright, Menopause the Wright Way

Introduce yourself and your involvement in pro-manchester?

I am Lisa Wright, founder of Menopause the Wright Way, a women’s health business I launched back in 2022 after a long and successful career in the data industry.

I had known about pro-manchester from its inception, when it had been primarily supporting the Manchester Corporate Finance community. I was aware that over the years it had expanded significantly to provide support and networking opportunities for all types of Manchester based businesses. It seemed a logical choice to join when I launched my own business in terms of introducing me to a network of like-minded business founders.

The team have always been incredibly friendly, supportive and have a reputation for putting on high quality and topical events. They asked me to join the LGBTQ+ committee a couple of years ago having been an openly gay senior leader. And early in 2025 I was delighted to take over the Chair of that committee.

What are you most looking forward to in the EDI calendar?

When I look at the EDI events planned for the rest of the year I see a wide range of topics covered by each of our sub committees, that I am confident our members will both enjoy and be able to take things away from. I am looking forward to attending as many as possible!  A personal favourite has always been the pro-women summer brunch where I have met some fantastically fun and supportive fellow women members.

What’s new for the EDI programme in 2026?

Melissa (pro-manchester’s new lead on EDI & skills) and I are both keen to reflect more intersectionality across the EDI events. People don’t typically fall into one single category of race, gender, sexuality, age etc and we want the events to be reflective of multi-faceted experiences.  With that in mind we have asked the sub-committees to reflect intersectionality within their events and work on more cross-group events.
