A former director of the government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and a world-renowned ethical hacker have been unveiled as keynote speakers at technology firm UKFast’s hugely successful annual cybersecurity event, Unlocked.
Unlocked aims to protect organisations from an ever-growing number of sophisticated and malicious online threats by analysing the current threat landscape. Former NCSC director John Noble and ethical hacker ‘FC’ are set to share their knowledge and experience with attendees at the event.
The free event takes place on the 17th July at UKFast Campus in Manchester, and 24th July at The Shard in London.
This year’s conference tackles business’ top security fears, including AI and the Internet of Things, phishing and the human firewall and malware in cloud computing. The event also includes an exclusive data breach workshop offering practical, in-depth advice and guidance from the security specialists to prepare attendees for real-life scenarios.
With more than 20 years’ experience in InfoSec, FC is currently Head of Cyber Research at Raytheon UK and co-founder of cybersecurity consultancy, Cygenta. His client list includes major high-street banks in the UK, FTSE100 companies and government agencies.
Former NCSC Director John Noble served government organisations for 40 years. His work at the NCSC saw him lead the response to nearly 800 significant cyber-incidents. He is now a non-executive director at NHS Digital where he chairs the Information Assurance and Cyber Security Committee.
Jonathan Bowers, event host and Managing Director of UKFast Enterprise, said of the event: “At a time when the threat of cybercrime is higher than ever, it’s important for the sector to come together and tackle security issues head on. Unlocked is set to educate the industry and address top security priorities facing UK businesses.”
The UK’s digital sector is worth an estimated £118 million per year, and with the adequacy of its data protection under intense scrutiny from the EU in light of Brexit, understanding and implementing effective cybersecurity is a top priority for the private and public spheres alike.
