Member Spotlight: Dewi Chappell, Head of Production, IMPACCT Live

16th June 2026, 8:59 pm

Introduce yourself

I’m Dewi (a name people tend to remember so I’ve been told) and I’ve been Head of Production at IMPACCT Live since early 2021 after over a decade as a Technical Project Manager for large-scale event production companies in Manchester.

I was invited onboard IMPACCT Live during the challenging Covid months to lead a production office offering virtual event solutions. Once the industry bounced back and clients were ready to book in-person events again, I was able to really focus on what I’m most passionate about which is being onsite, amongst people and in the thick of all the activity and crazy events energy.

I’m also a professional musician and I’ve been performing, teaching, as well as organising gigs over the UK for most of my life.

Career highlight

I’ve always been proud of the team here at IMPACCT Live for pulling off one of our largest projects to date with only a 3-month lead time at the Circle Convention Center in Zurich across 15+ meeting spaces for over 500+ attendees, plus a lengthy 5-day corporate conference programme. The adrenaline kicked in on that one!

Name three words that describe your personality

Approachable, energetic, committed.

What are your priorities for 2026?

Local opportunities – we are fortunate to support large corporates on international projects, but we want to explore the potential on our own home turf with local enterprises, and to build ongoing partnerships and establish long-term contracts.

What do you think are the most important things going on in Manchester at the moment?

The way Manchester is really being accelerated on the global stage and having the opportunity to showcase its capabilities, drive and creativity. It’s exciting times for hospitality and events right now with the W Hotel soon to make an appearance in 2026, and ground being broken on the Nobu Residences. Sometimes I don’t recognise the place!

Favourite meeting place in Manchester

The Treehouse Hotel on Deansgate has become my second home this year. It’s a great location to work, extremely homely and the events team have been incredibly supportive. We’ll be hosting an event at the Treehouse this July on meetings technology with one of our meeting-app partners so looking forward to having a few beers at the new rooftop bar very soon. Part of the job of course!

Are there any particular types of businesses that you would like to meet?

Our main reason for joining Pro-Manchester was to connect with local businesses who are seeking ongoing meetings production support for small/medium scale events. The focus always tends to be on large-scale events when partnering with production professionals like us, but this doesn’t have to be the case. If you’re looking for a cost-effective agency who can provide a 1–2 person crew for smaller gatherings, we’d be keen to find out more and discuss how we can help.
