A quick look back at our first half-year at ALF Recruit

It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through 2025 — and what a whirlwind it’s been since ALF Recruit officially got going.

We kicked things off in late 2024, when Gavin Reynolds decided to set up a recruitment business with a clear focus: proper partnerships, quality over quantity, and no cut corners. Fast forward to early 2025, and Joanne Sizer joined as Director — bringing her brilliant energy and experience, and making ALF Recruit a true team effort.

Since then, things have moved quickly (in the best way). Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to behind the scenes:

Some highlights so far…

• First team placement made in January – always a big moment.
• Moved into our office at Fire Up Rochdale – our base and now very much our home.
• 35 placements made in Finance, Accountancy, Financial Services and Business Support roles.
• Now working as a recruitment partner to over 20 brilliant businesses.
• Selected for the first Preferred Supplier List we applied for (thanks to Joanne’s tenacity) with a major financial services business in Greater Manchester.
• 31 five-star Google reviews and counting (at the time of writing). The feedback has honestly blown us away. You can read them here ➜
• 60+ candidate meetings and 15 client meetings – building proper relationships is what it’s all about.
• 10 networking events – we’ve had the coffee and name badges to prove it.
• Ran a bespoke assessment centre for our client, PMD Business Finance – a great project to be part of.
• And… we’ve just grown again – with a third recruiter joining us in Cassidy Pinder.

What’s next?

We’re proud of how far we’ve come, but this is just the beginning. There’s a lot more to come in the second half of the year, and we’re excited to keep building something with real purpose and proper people at the heart of it.
