Join Myerson and guests for a panel discussion on the increasingly relevant topic of employee ownership – and discover why the number of employee-owned businesses is growing at a rate of 30% year on year.

With its many advantages, employee ownership – particularly through the use of an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) – is fast becoming a preferred method of succession planning for business owners. It not only offers tax efficiencies and continuity but also fosters a culture of transparency, engagement and shared success for employees.

Myerson Solicitors is a 100% employee-owned, independent law firm, having made the transition to an EOT in September 2024. With first-hand experience of the process, and having advised a number of other businesses on their own transitions, they’re well placed to share practical, strategic and cultural insight into what becoming employee-owned involves.

The expert panel will explore:

  • What employee ownership means in practice and why it’s becoming such an important succession planning tool.
  • How an employee-owned business is structured and the role of the Employee Ownership Trust.
  • What becoming employee-owned means for employees and how to bring people on the journey.
  • The tax benefits for both business owners and employees.
  • The importance of cultural alignment, transparency and inclusion throughout the process.
