How to network effectively
How often do you actually take time to network effectively? Time is money and you should be focusing your time on the business, right? Networking is an investment too and it takes time. But if planned and prepared, the time for networking can be highly effective and be the catalyst for a growing business.
Networking in the virtual world is a bit different, but the fundamentals remain the same; what preparation do you do for your networking, how do you follow up, why do you network in the first place? Has someone ever given you feedback on how you approach networking? When was the last time you updated your “elevator pitch”?
Networking keeps you openminded, it keeps you and your business current. Networking keeps you engaged. As a business you need to stay with the times, you must continue evolving and developing.
This session is a highly interactive session where you will use time effectively practise and refine your networking skills.
About the Speakers:
Patricia is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at AMBS. She has a Masters in Finance, a PGCE and is a qualified Executive Coach.
Patricia has extensive experience working in large financial corporations such as Citigroup, JP Morgan, Nomura and Barclays in Manchester, London and New York.
Patricia has created and teaches a range of courses at University of Manchester across Undergraduate, Post Graduate, MBA and Executive Education.
In both 2020 and 2019, Patricia was awarded Faculty of Humanities AMBS Outstanding teaching award and in 2017 she was awarded AMBS Academic of the year Full-time MBA. She has also been nominated for numerous other teaching awards.
In addition, Patricia has been the key speaker on several large charity functions, helping to raise over £500,000 for the charities over the last eight years.
