Workplace Leadership for a Healthier, More Productive Greater Manchester Workforce: Live Well, Work Well
Join us for a focused one hour session exploring how organisations can better support leaders while strengthening workplace wellbeing across Greater Manchester. This event brings together a carefully selected panel of experts to provide a balanced and practical discussion on the realities of leadership today and its impact on workforce health and productivity.
The session will begin with an introduction from a representative of Live Well, who will outline the organisation’s 10-year strategy. Greater Manchester’s Live Well strategy isn’t just a public health ambition; it is also a workforce productivity and retention strategy, with employers acting as critical delivery partners. This introduction will highlight what Live Well offers employers including tools, referral pathways, and community partnerships, and how businesses can use these resources to reduce health related barriers to work, integrate wellbeing strategies, and realise financial and organisational benefits. This will be followed by a chaired panel discussion.
The panel has been intentionally designed to reflect a wide range of professional perspectives. Experts from HR, legal, medical or therapeutic, and wellbeing backgrounds will share insights from their fields, ensuring the conversation is inclusive and multidimensional. Together, they will explore the pressures leaders face, the legal and organisational risks involved, the mental health considerations that cannot be ignored, and practical steps organisations can take to strengthen workplace wellbeing and leadership capability.
Throughout the session, panelists will draw on real world experience of implementing leadership and wellbeing strategies. Attendees can expect honest reflections on challenges, lessons learned, and measurable outcomes. Particular emphasis will be placed on equipping managers with practical tools, training approaches, and structured support that can be applied immediately within their own teams.
The event is designed as a safe and constructive space to acknowledge the demands placed on leaders and to explore meaningful, sustainable solutions. Participants will leave with actionable insights and greater clarity on how to build stronger support systems that promote both effective workplace leadership and long term workforce wellbeing across Greater Manchester.

About the Speakers:
Evie, Co – Founder of Feast & Flow began her career as a professional dancer, an experience that sparked her passion for health and wellbeing after seeing first-hand how the industry often overlooked true balance. Driven to create meaningful change, she transitioned into fitness helping others discover what worked best for their own health and personal goals.
Her journey eventually led her to meet Jake, and together they co-founded Feast & Flow, a company dedicated to reimagining workplace wellbeing. Through their work, they aim to empower individuals and organisations to prioritise health, creating environments where people can genuinely thrive.
Emily is a passionate, Manchester-born-and-bred leader spearheading the global growth and expansion of DEKA. A fiercely loyal northerner, her professional “why” was forged during 5.5 years in Tokyo. While working for a global multinational, she navigated a
male-dominated corporate culture and fought for recognition as a serious female leader.
Alongside a full time position as Director at Michael Page and as a mother to a three-year-old and a newborn in Japan, she founded Mums in Business Tokyo – a vibrant network for working mothers from around the world. This passion project, built on the need
for a strong community, cemented her leadership philosophy.
Her return to the UK was just as impactful. A chance meeting on a treadmill in a Crossfit box in Tokyo with Spartan CEO and Founder, Joe de Sena, led to a new opportunity. Nine years later, Emily is leading the charge at DEKA. (The youngest brand in the Spartan portfolio, alongside Spartan Obstacle Course Racing, Tough Mudder)
Her mission is clear: “DEKA doesn’t compete with anyone.” She champions a “global network effect,” where partners and racers are the heart of the community and the engine of growth. She often quotes Man City’s Pep Guardiola’s line – “The fans will do their bit. We will do the rest” – to explain DEKA’s power. “We are powered by our Gym Partners, our community and everyone who earns a medal,” she says. “They are our family, our community. My team has the privilege of doing the rest.” (Though as a proud Manchester United fan, she’s quick to clarify that her respect for Pep is purely for his leadership.)
