pro-manchester celebrates Good Employment Charter status

9th December 2021, 6:37 pm

There was cause for celebration yesterday as pro-manchester joined other businesses from the Manchester region to mark being recognised as official members of The Good Employment Charter.

The accolade was first officially bestowed on a rather shocked Sam Booth at an event in November entitled ‘ Why Good Employment Is Good For Business’ as Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham surprised the pro-manchester CEO with a plaque officially awarding pro-manchester with new member status.

The Good Employment Charter aims to represent Greater Manchester as a leading exemplar of good employment in the UK, a place where people have equal access to quality work that is inclusive, fairly compensated, offers security and flexibility and cultivates an environment where health and wellbeing thrives.

The online campaign on Thursday 9th December celebrated the businesses from across the region who have been recognised as meeting the strict criteria set by the Good Employment Charter

Speaking about the award Chief Executive Sam Booth said

“ Our work in the community creating opportunities for businesses is highly visible but of course we are also putting hard work into making our organisation a truly great place to work.  Like many others our business has had to evolve over the past 18 months to adapt to the needs of our members, and the wider world around us, the team have all worked incredibly hard to make this happen, it is fantastic to be recognised for such an accolade and that recognition is undoubtedly a team effort”
