John Storey

I’m John Storey – a 1LOD controls practitioner at BNY (Bank of New York – one of Manchester’s largest financial services employers) and a member of the Future-Pro Committee at Pro-Manchester.

I’m originally from the East Coast of Yorkshire but have been in Manchester for around 8 years after moving to the city to study at the University of Manchester, from which I graduated with First Class Honors in Economics and Politics. Around 5 years later, I now work within First Line Controls at BNY where I contribute to our risk management framework and perform analysis in order to allow for informed decisions to be made about our risk environment. I’m proud of the impact I have had on BNY’s Manchester site and the networks I have built within it – now I’m looking to do likewise within the wider Manchester Business Community as part of the future-pro committee.

Outside of work, you’ll often find me on the Tennis court or doing DIY around my flat – with mixed success!
