The pro-women Committee invites you to a webinar featuring Councillor Chris Northwood, Manchester's first transgender councillor, sharing invaluable insights. About the Speakers:
Chris Northwood (she/her) is the deputy group leader of the Manchester Liberal Democrats and a councillor in Ancoats & Beswick. She was elected Manchester’s first openly trans councillor in May 2023. In a professional capacity, Chris works as a software developer for a national charity and is the author of “The Full Stack Developer”.
Nichola sits on the National Executive Committee of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (“FOIL”) and is a FOIL’s representative on the Law Society Council and on the Law Society Civil Justice Committee.
She has been involved with pro-manchester for a number of years and very much enjoys her involvement on the Committees she sits on and is also the Chair of the pro-women group which forms part of the pro-manchester EDI committee.
Beth is an HR and equity, diversity and inclusion professional, who specialises in LGBTQ+ inclusion at work. Her passion for the subject began with her study ‘Educating Workforces on Transgender Identities and Transitions: Is Your Workforce Up-to-Date?’ which sparked her interest in LGBTQ+ inclusion in a professional setting. Since then she has held many positions, working to create spaces that foster a sense of belonging for the LGBTQ+ community, and has continued to research and share methods for creating safe spaces with organisations such as Manchester Pride. Her latest endeavours are as a freelance speaker, delving into her lived experience as a queer, bisexual woman and sharing her expertise on LGBTQ+ knowledge and inclusion techniques.
Emma is a Relationship Therapist, Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor. As well as working as a therapist, Emma is Head of Counselling & Wellbeing Services at TLC: Talk, Listen, Change and has an interest in supporting people who want to explore Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diversity (GSRD).
