Philip Shaw is the Chief Economist for the Investec plc group, you may have heard him speak for Professional Liverpool and Professional Manchester earlier in the year at the peak of the Covid pandemic and if not there then you may well have seen him in any one of his regular commentator slots covering the economy and financial markets in the media and on TV. He graduated with an Economics degree from Bath University and a master’s in Econometrics from the University of Manchester. He started his career in the Government Economic Service at the Department of Energy before joining Barclays as an economist/econometrician.
